AMERICAN LEGION POST #16
A NOTE FROM YOUR POST ADJUTANT:
I have been in charge of membership for this Post for almost 20 years.  Last year the Post voted to raise dues to $65 beginning this year 23-24.  We do not get to keep all the money. Below is the breakdown of what the dues are used for:
-We have to send money to National, the Department of MI, and the 7th District.
-The Post pays dues for anyone who has been a member for over 50 years at the Post.  We are paying for seven members this year. The Post also pays for those who are Honorary Life Member, and we are paying for seven of those this year.
-Postage for all the mailing we do for membership comes out of membership dues.
As of March 13, 2024 we have had 248 members in the Post which includes transfers and new members and paid up for life members.
Remember all 2023 cards expired Dec. 31, 2023! Any member that has a current 2024 card can come in and ask questions in regard to membership.
Thank you to our current members that have renewed this year!
Glenn M. Ream, Adjutant
American Legion Post #16, Lapeer MI.
