Commander Walt Stewart reprsentative from American Legion Post 16 presented the freshman team with a certificate of appreciation for patriotism.The team gained national attention after they sung the National Anthem because it wasn't played before their August 31 game at Carman - Ainsworth.

 DAVE FIX SCHOLARSHIP AWARDS

The American Legion has long been a staple in the Lapeer Community. We continue to be comitted to giving back to our community. One way we do this is through Scholarships we give each year to a two local high school graduates to help with college expenses. 

 Each year, our Scholarship Committee selects a Lapeer High School senior female and male who have a strong GPA and demonstrate outstanding citizenship. Preference is given to students who are  daughters, sons or a stepchild of a veteran who died while serving.
