Each year Post #16 Family members (Post, Auxiliary, S.A.L.) give a Memorial Day ceremony on the Saturday before Memorial at Ray C's Harley Davidson of Lapeer.

 DAVE FIX SCHOLARSHIP AWARDS

The American Legion has long been a staple in the Lapeer Community. We continue to be comitted to giving back to our community. One way we do this is through Scholarships we give each year to local high school graduates to help with college expenses. 

 This year for the first time, an additional scholarship was given, making it three scholarships given to Lapeer High School seniors whose application and supporting materials met the criteria set by the Scholarship Committee. Among the 11 criteria are:  GPA, Community Service, outstanding citizenship during their high school years, attendance and School activities participation. Preference is given to students who are  daughters, sons or a stepchild of a veteran who died while serving.
